Muzzle Flash Comparison
According to Wikipedia: Muzzle blast is the term used to describe the release of hot, high pressure gases from the muzzle of a firearm when it is discharged. Muzzle flash is the term used to describe the visible light of the muzzle blast. The blast and flash are caused by the combustion products of the gunpowder, and any remaining unburned powder, mixing with the ambient air. The size and shape of the muzzle flash is dependent on the type of ammunition being used and the individual characteristics of firearm and any devices attached to the muzzle (such as a muzzle brake or flash suppressor). In Urban Terror muzzle flash is completely suppressed when using a silencer. If you are not using a silencer here is what is rendered by the game for each weapon. The largest muzzle flash in the game goes to the SPAS-12 shot gun (not shown on this page). The smallest goes to the Beretta (also not shown here).

What does all this mean?
It means that you need to chose your weapons based on conditions and your style. If you strictly want to play by numbers go ahead, but I recommend that you take the time to use each weapon get a feel for it, and then learn when it is the right time to use each weapon.
Enjoy your gaming and happy hunting :)
