How I got my fire spreads.
Testing data in a video game is quite difficult. I have no precision instruments to use so everything is as close as can be calculated with the eye and screen shots. Each gun in the FPS (first person shooter) game Urban Terror has different characteristics, I have attempted to come to what the base weapon is by it self here is how. The guns to follow this model were:
To get my fire spreads for the automatic sections, I did the following:
- Started my Urban Terror Server
- Set my FOV to 90
- Turned on weapon views
- Entered the map "Firing Range" as a FFA (Free for All)
- Selected my weapons, and equpipment, and went to the shortest range (10ft I think) I backed into place to ensure same position for each weapon.
- Pointed (as best I could) at dead center on the target, then emptied the "entire clip" in a single burst, this has been repeated 6 times for each weapon's configuration.
- Before the bullet marks faded I turned slightly off center (to enable maximum view of target) and took screen shot. I always turned to the same point.
- Then I Labled the images according to weapon and attachements
- I then cropped images to only show targets.
- Then I count and calculate my percentages.
