Rate of Fire
After a moderate debate about the best way to calculate rate of fire, I had a few suggestions, but what I decided on is this:
- Start Demo Recording
- Empty Entire Magazine at wall
- Reload
- Repeat until out of Magazines
- Stop Demo
- Play back demo at 10% speed
- Time how long it takes to empty each magazine and record results
- Time how long it takes to reload each time and record results
- Divide that time by 10 and you get a very close representation of game time.
I had several people recommend recording to avi then converting and then slowing down and checking time indexes. I decided this was not the precise option for me.
I would like to thank Yaz for the recommendation of the timeindex for the slow replay.
Skeptics:
Here are the demos I used for my calculations. Enjoy. It took me quite a while to go through them all.
- AK103
- G36
- LM300 - (Please forgive the typo at the end... it really is the LR300 not an M4.)
- M4
- MP5K
- Negev
- UMP45
