Pros:

  • Decreases Damage to the Torso: This item can keep you alive about 40% longer than not having it equipped.  (Based on the difference in damage with it on and off).
  • Darkens Torso Coloring making it harder to see in obscured areas.  (Your arms and legs are still team colors but the torso is darker.)

Cons:

  • Takes up an available Item slot: There is only so much stuff you can carry.
  • Has a very strong impact on stamina. You can't run as far or jump as high with kevlar on.

Toggles:

This item cannot be toggled it is either worn (and on) or dropped (and off).

Dropping:

This item can be dropped with the command "ut_itemdrop kevlar" that can be bound to any key of the players choosing.

Settings:

There are no "settings" for the kevlar.

Advice:

  • You can still move fast with kevlar, you just need to take breathers more often.  Most beginning-mid level players benefit from the use of kevlar.
