Most of this section was taken from the Urban Terror Forums from a user named “Colonel Blimp”. Just be warned that 90% of people cannot get bots to work properly without crashes. If you want to go here... feel free... but this is an "unsupported" feature, that looks like it will never get supported.
Turning them ON
To enable bots (not aim bots, bots to fight against) You must be running your own server. First you must turn on the bots feature with this command
/bot_enable 1
Then you must restart the server (if it is running) with this command
/reload
Adding
After you have enabled the bots then you can add them with the add bot command here is the syntax.
/addbot <type> <level> <team> <ping> <nick_name>
Bot Types:
- boa
- cheetah
- chicken
- cobra
- cockroach
- cougar
- goose
- mantis
- penguin
- puma
- python
- raven
- scarab
- scorpion
- tiger
- widow
Level is a range from 0-5. 0 is the easiest. 5 is the hardest.
Team is either "Red" or "Blue"
Ping is a "fake" ping time for when connected to a server
Nick_name can be anything you like
Here is a sample to call a bot:
addbot Cheetah 0 Red 75 =lvl0=Cheetah
This would create a bot from the model "Cheetah", at the lowest level on the red team with a ping of 75 and the name "=lvl0=Cheetah"
Subtracting
To remove bots you can simply kick them by name with the kick command:
/kick nick_name
or
/kick allbots
After Thoughts
Ok, so you just read the section on bots. I have experimented and read forums all afternoon and discovered: They really don't work well at all. Apparently some people can get them to run, some can't. My particular problem is the second I get shot the server and game crash. I can shoot the bots all day. The instant I receive damage I'm back at my desktop.
According to the forums Frozen Sands really has no interest or desire in adding or fixing the bots. They were used primarily for testing, and they don't work in all the maps. They are more interested in the online/team game play and bots are not really a part of that.
Some people on some systems can get this to work. But unfortunately I cannot. I wanted to use them to practice my sniping and jumping with people shooting at me, but alas i must practice on public servers or find a friend to practice with...
